For BizTalk people probably you don’t need any introduction to Message Box Viewer. It became as the de-facto tool to analyse and fix any issue you find in your environment. The tool was initially built as hobby project by one of the Microsoft PSS (support) person called Jean-Pierre Auconie (JP) and over the years it’s matured to be first class application. If you raise a support call with Microsoft the very first thing they ask you to do is to run the MBV tool to gather all the information about your environment. It’s also a good practice to run MBV periodically in your environment (once a week for example) and take action on some of the critical and non-critical errors it reports. MBV comes with over 400 rules to verify various things in your environment. BizTalk360 comes with first class integration for MBV out of the box, with complete scheduling and alerting mechanism. The main reason for this post it to inform readers, MBV 13 is now part of BizTalk Server 2013 standard installation. If you are using BizTalk Server 2013, it’s already installed on your installation directory. You can find MBV under  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013\SDK\Utilities\Support Tools\MsgBoxViewer message box viewer window For those of you who wants to use the new Message Box Viewer 13 with older versions of BizTalk Server (2010, 2009, 2006 R2 etc),  you can download it directly from JP’s blog here.
