What is coming next in BizTalk360 v10.1

It’s time to upgrade your BizTalk360 application! Generally, we release a new version in each quarter. In June 2021, we released v10.0 which holds a complete UI revamp that eases the user experience to the next level. Now we are super excited to announce our upcoming release BizTalk360 v10.1 with brand new features and enhancements!

Summary of new features we introduced in v10.1

Azure Service Bus Topics

Our customers are in a hybrid platform, so we need to support same for them. BizTalk360 already supports azure services monitoring such as Logic Apps, API Apps, Service Bus Queues, etc. Now it is extended to Service Bus topics monitoring. By adding the connection string and topics name, BizTalk360 will detect and list the topics details such as its current state, message size, and subscription details.

The topics and its subscription state can be monitored by configuring the expected state as Active /disabled /Send Disabled, In addition to this, the threshold rule to monitor the below metrics of the selected topics and its subscription can also be configured.

  • Total message count
  • Active message count
  • Scheduled message count
  • Transfer message count
  • Dead letter count
  • Transfer Dead letter Message count
  • Azure Service Bus Topics

BHM Profile Management

BizTalk360 has already an integration with BHM. This integration enables the BizTalk360 user to schedule BHM and view the output of the different runs of the tool directly from within BizTalk360. You can also manually run BHM, Schedule BHM runs, Run BHM profiles, view and monitor the BHM runs.

In addition, you can manage and monitor only the default profile in the previous versions. From this version, we have extended the scope to support multiple profiles.

Manage BHM Profiles – The detailed reports of multiple BHM profiles can be viewed in BizTalk360 operations modules and also be analyzed and the profile can be run by clicking the Run BHM option, which runs all the profiles and generates the report.

BHM Profile Management

Monitoring multiple BHM profiles – The Schedule can be configured to run the selected profile on a specific time duration. More than one profile can be monitored by configuring the threshold rules and mapping that to alarm. BizTalk360 checks for any threshold violation based on the rules configured and the latest report generated and if there is any violation, the same will be notified through an alert.

Governance and Audit (Logic Apps and Tracking Manager)

When we work on cutting-edge technology, security is one of the important factors that need to be considered. Keeping that in mind, earlier we implemented Governance and Auditing which audits BizTalk level activities from BizTalk360 and most of the BizTalk360 activities too. From this version on we also audit Logic apps and Tracking manager activities.

Logic App activities – enable, disable, delete, run, trigger, and resubmit.

Tracking manager activities -whenever tracking is enabled /disabled at port level or globally, any changes done at tracking rules through BizTalk360 will get audited.

Governance and Audit

SQL Jobs history

You can manage and monitor the configured SQL server jobs in BizTalk360. However to view the job history you need to switch to SSMS, So to avoid switching multiple tools we added a new tab called SQL Job history in the SQL Server Instance page in which displays the history of SQL jobs of the selected SQL instance. By clicking on the specific history the run status of both parent and child details will get listed along with the other details such as its steps, last executed time, run status, and the description.

Azure Service Integration account

BizTalk360 is one stop solution for the integration platforms. You can utmost manage and monitor all your BizTalk server components with BizTalk360. yes, we have added a back Integration account to the product in this release.

Just by configuring the azure subscription in BizTalk360 you can view the integration account details such as schemas, Maps, Certificates, Partners, and Agreements in a rich UI so you don’t want to switch to Azure portal to view these details.

Dashboard User Access Policy

Dashboard is the best way to gain insight into your environments by adding the widgets. Different types of users prefer to have different visual views according to their requirements. So we made it open where user can customise their own dashboard. Apart from this user specific dashboard we have a concept called a global dashboard which is available for all the users. All the users who have access to that environment can manage that dashboard. In this release, we have added access restriction for this global dashboard too . For instance, admin can define which user can access which dashboard and the access policy, whether user can create a new dashboard or not, and whether they can manage the widget in the dashboard or not.

Feature Enhancements

Date Monitoring Improvements

Age based Monitoring for Data Monitoring-User can now check for the instances which are older than a specific time duration.

For instance, if you have a suspended instance that has been created a few days ago may be overlooked for some reason which can be captured and notified easily by configuring the age monitoring to a specific period. This has been implemented for Message Box, ESB, and tracking data monitoring.

Data Monitoring Schedule –To give more insight into the data monitoring schedules, we are listing the total number of schedules created in each tab say ESB, EDI, etc

Application Group Import /Export

The application groups (which have been used for setting up the user profile) can be imported from one environment to another environment. With this, you can easily import the custom users and their roles from one environment to another. We also provide an option to override groups, if the application group is already configured in the destination environment.

Rename Operation to Administration

Operations are one of the most imperative modules in BizTalk360, in which all your BizTalk admin tasks can be managed. So to make it more appropriate we renamed Operations as Administration.

BHM Improvements

To inline with actual BHM tools, we are now listing the below information’s in BizTalk360.

  • Query Output
  • Key Indicator
  • Critical/Non-Critical/Summary/Header info /Key indicator counts

ESB Improvements

ESB Alert- The fault description link will be listed in the ESB Data Monitoring alert with this you can easily redirect to the ESB module and see the fault details

HTTP Receive Location -We provide users to configure the HTTP Receive Locations in the ESB configuration section. with this only, the configured receive location will be listed in the ESB section for resubmission.

Logic App Bulk Resubmit

BizTalk360 is already capable of monitoring and managing the logic apps, and also enable/disable/delete or runs your logic apps with the BizTalk360 application. Now we are providing the option to resubmit the logic app runs from BizTalk360.

Cluster Host Throttling Monitoring – BizTalk Host(Clustered/Non-Clustered) Throttling can be monitored by enabling the monitoring and configuring the monitoring rule for publish and delivery throttle, alert will get triggered if there is any violation in throttle condition.

In the case of cluster host throttling BizTalk360 will automatically pick the active node for monitoring. The cluster nodes are coded with color to make it more clear.

Analytics Custom widgets Date Time Range support

Analytics Custom widgets give an insight into various performance metrics of BizTalk and SQL server. The performance details can be seen in customised way say for the last 24 hours /7 days / 30 days. To make this more specific we are now providing an option for the user to choose the From and To date, as per their needs. For instance, users can easily see the last 10 days of Memory usage or the Number of messages transacted from a port during a specific period of time.

Conclusion

BizTalk360 keeps up its standard by introducing new features or by improving existing features on every release, based on customers’ feedback and their business needs. Why not give a BizTalk360 a try !
