We’re excited to announce the release of BizTalk360 v11.4, packed with powerful new capabilities and enhancements that continue to empower BizTalk administrators with proactive monitoring, and smoother BizTalk Administration.

Release Highlights

  • Mailbox Monitoring – Ensure Office365 &POP3 mailboxes used in Receive Locations and Send Ports are always reachable.
  • IBM MQ – Additional metrics monitoring added for queues and channels.
  • BAM View UAP support, like actual BAM portal.

Mailbox Availability Monitoring (Office 365 and POP3)

File Location monitoring is now expanded to include Office 365 and POP3 mailboxes used in Receive Locations and Send Ports. The mail location configurations are automatically retrieved from the BizTalk Management Console, enabling BizTalk Administrators to monitor the availability of mailboxes on the BizTalk Server efficiently.

Why Mailbox Monitoring Matters?

For many businesses especially in retail, emails are a critical part of order processing workflows. BizTalk Server can receive customer orders via email, extract details, and update systems like the Order Management System (OMS). But if a mailbox becomes unavailable or reaches storage limits, the consequences can be serious: message delays, data loss, or processing failures.

Availability Monitoring

The Monitoring service will continuously check the health of your configured mailboxes to ensure they’re reachable and functioning as expected. If the mailbox becomes unreachable (e.g., due to a password change or service downtime), the system immediately triggers an alert.

Threshold Rules

You can define custom rules based on mailbox size, unread mail count, or message volume. If the mailbox is overloaded or nearing capacity, you’ll get timely alerts before it impacts your workflows.

For example, You configure a Threshold Rule : “Throw Error if MailCount > 2”

If more than 2 emails are sitting in the mailbox at any time, an error alert will be raised.

Automated Actions

Minimize downtime with automated remediation. If a threshold is violated (e.g., unread mail exceeds 20), BizTalk360 can automatically trigger corrective actions like restarting the host instance that processes that mailbox.

Visual Monitoring & Alerts

Once a mailbox is mapped for monitoring, its real-time health status is displayed on a graphical tree-view dashboard. Any issues are highlighted in the Errors and Warnings section, and you can navigate directly to the affected configuration for quick investigation.

IBM MQ – Enhanced Queue and Channel Metrics Monitoring

IBM MQ Monitoring is enhanced to monitor additional key metrics of queues and new set of metrics for the channels.

Queue Metrics:

  • Messages In/Out – Tracks the number of messages entering and leaving the queue.
  • Uncommitted Messages – Identifies pending transactions that haven’t been committed.
  • Open Input/Output Handles – Monitors how many applications are connected to the queue for reading or writing.

Channel Metrics:

  • Messages Sent/Received – Measures traffic through MQ Channels.
  • Buffers & Bytes Sent/Received – Helps analyse data throughput and performance bottlenecks.

Administration Enhancements

1)BAM View User Access Policy

BizTalk360 now supports Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) configured in the BAM portal.

For example, the finance department uses BAM to track high-value payment transactions flowing through BizTalk. They’ve configured two specific views:

  • PaymentStatusView – accessible only to finance managers
  • InvoiceTrackingView – accessible to the auditing team

With RBAC in place, BizTalk360 automatically enforces these permissions:

  • Only authorized users and NT groups can view specific BAM views.
  • A more secure and controlled environment for BAM data access.
2)Secure SQL Queries

A new pre-defined SQL query lets you track the monthly message volume per port—a valuable metric for reporting.

3)ESB Service Name Population

Service names are now reliably populated by considering both the BizTalk Management and ESB Exception databases for accurate context.

Monitoring Enhancements

Email Template Improvements

BizTalk360 now offers users to customize email templates directly from the UI, giving you more control over the look and feel of your notifications. Whether you’re sending out alerts, reports, or system updates, you can create a consistent style that aligns with your organization.

Important Note: Starting from this version, users can no longer modify XSLT files. Instead, email styles can now be customized directly through the user interface.

The Discrete XSLT is used to generate emails for monitoring notifications, helping to optimize runtime memory utilization of the monitoring service.

1)Email Details

This section allows you to update the key email details such as Display name , From email address. Additionally, you can customise the subject from here.

These updates ensure the recipients always know who the message is from and what it’s about.

2)Customise Styles

In Customize Style tab, you’ll find a wide range of options to personalize your email templates.

General – you can start by selecting a layout that fits your needs. Choose from various themes including Light and Dark modes. In this section, you can also modify Background Color,Font Colour, Font Family.

Header/Footer Section – These section gives you the flexibility to choose between text or a logo for your template header. You can further customize the header and footer by background colour, Font colour, size and style.

Body Section – The Body section allows for detailed customization of your content. Here, you can: Modify side headings, body content, and table headers. Also Change font styles.

Preview Template – The interface offers an intuitive and easy-to-use experience, with real-time previews to help you see how your changes will appear before you save.

File Location Availability

File, FTP, and SFTP locations are now monitored more effectively:

  • Issues like network failures or credential expiries are detected and reported as critical.
  • Avoid false “orphaned” alerts with smarter diagnosis.

Teams Notification Optimization

Large Teams alerts now use component-level format(Monitored artifacts and their status alone) to ensure important information isn’t missed due to size limitations.

General Enhancements

BizTalk360 Advisor Report

BizTalk360 Advisor act as an intelligent assistant , help you get the most out of your investment. The Advisor analyzes real-time usage data from your environment and highlights valuable, often-overlooked features you might not be using yet.

These insights are grouped into Administration, Monitoring, Analytics, and General and tailored based on your license tier and enabled features.

The Advisor continuously reviews your configuration data and flags areas where functionality isn’t being used to its full potential. Whether it’s a missed analytics setup or underused administrative features, the Advisor keeps you informed.

For example, in the Monitoring section, it shows which artifacts are being monitored, which aren’t, and their current health status—so you can close any visibility gaps.

Each recommendation includes:

  • Quick access to the feature page
  • Direct links to the corresponding documentation

Easy Action & Email Sharing-Each suggestion includes direct links to take action or view documentation. You can also email recommendations (SMTP setup required) to share them with your team instantly.

Improved Logging

Enhanced logging framework , capture the detailed stack traces and exceptions, including the referenced methods with the exact code line causing the issue which aid in faster root-cause analysis.

Installer Improvements

  • Automatic Script Repair: A new Repair option detects and fixes script mismatches during upgrades.
  • Skip Super User Validation: You can now optionally bypass Super User validation during installation.
  • WIX Runtime Fixes: We’ve resolved runtime issues related to the WIX framework, improving installation stability.
